Oceanis: New Evidence

CASE 46 FOLLOW-UP

Agent, you discovered the three liars aboard the Oceanis, but we didn't have the hard evidence to prove who stole the Bio-Core. The lab just processed the Gamer's cabin and found a new piece of evidence. Download the file. This might be the proof we need.

SOLUTION // BIO LIBRARY

The numbers reveal the hidden message:

BIO LIBRARY

This is not just another suspicious detail. The message clearly implicates the Gamer in the theft of the Bio-Core. He lied during the original investigation, and this note shows that he knew exactly where the Bio-Core had been hidden. There are two possibilities:

  1. The Gamer stole the Bio-Core and intended to use the note to tell an accomplice where he had hidden it.
  2. An accomplice stole the Bio-Core and left it in the Library, then passed the note to the Gamer so he could retrieve it.

Either way, the Gamer was involved in the theft.

SOLUTION // THE INCOGNITO CHARTER

1. Visual Clues:
The Stone left his spy book on seat 5B.
Thursday Dark left her bag on the aisle seat 6C.

2. The Minibar Deduction:
LeBronze Games wants an aisle seat as close to the minibar as possible. His options are 1C or 1D. Since Thursday Dark is in column C, LeBronze must be in 1D.

3. The Window Seats:
Mr. Feast wants a window seat in the row immediately after LeBronze, so he must be in 2A or 2F. Saylor Shift requires the right-hand window, column F. Therefore, Mr. Feast must be in 2A. Saylor will take either 3F or 4F.

4. The Neck Pillow:
Billie Eyelash needs a neck pillow. After eliminating every position that shares a row or column with the other known clues, only 4E remains. So Saylor will take 3F
